LCD screens
Because there are no bulky vacuum tubes, as on a normal CRT monitor, LCD screens are only a few inches thick, making them perfect for situations where space is at a premium. One of the biggest advantages of this smaller size is that the display uses less energy. In fact, an LCD screen uses up to 90% less power than a standard CRT monitor and creates far less heat. The viewing angle is much narrower than a television or conventional monitor, but text and graphics are often sharper than on CRTs and a good flat panel display will offer better colour quality. LCD screens have become very popular in trading houses and other financial institutions, where space is often at a premium.
